ECNL NORTH CAROLINA RECAP

EAST WINS FINAL CONTINENTAL TIRE NATIONAL SELECTION GAME OF SEASON

BROWNS SUMMIT, NC - For the final time this season, the top players from ECNL North Carolina took the field at Bryan Park Soccer Complex Friday night for the final Continental Tire ECNL National Selection Game of the 2024-25 season.

The East got on the board first in the 19th minute with a shot from the top of the box to make it 1-0.

The West knotted things up in the 24th minute though on a long strike from outside the box tucked into the far right corner by Marian Dunne (Portland Thorns).

The two sides remained level until late in the game when Clare Greisen (Connecticut FC) played a ball in front to Avery Yagle (Bay Area Surf) who finished it off to give the East the 2-1 victory.

After the game, Caelyn Dyer (Pleasanton Rage) was named Player of the Match for her outstanding work defensively for the East.

“It’s a privilege to be named the ECNL Continental Tire Player of the Match,” Dyer said. “I’m just so excited.”
