The United States Women's National Team is on the cusp of capturing the inaugural CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, when they take the field against Brazil in the final on Sunday night in San Diego.
Thirteen ECNL alumni are included in the 23 player roster for the United States, including 19-year-old Jaedyn Shaw (FC Dallas) who leads the team with four goals and is the first USWNT player to score in her first four starts following her goal against Canada in the semifinals. She now has six goals in her first nine caps, tied for the third-most by any player in USWNT history through their first nine games.
Shaw not only leads the way in goals for the United States, but is third overall in goals for the entire in the tournament.
The other ECNL alumni making up the team are: Korbin Albert (Eclipse Select SC) Jane Campbell (Concorde Fire) Sam Coffey (Match Fit Academy) Alana Cook (Match Fit Academy), Tierna Davidson (De Anza Force), Emily Fox (FC Virginia), Naomi Girma (De Anza Force), Casey Murphy (PDA), Jenna Nighswonger (Slammers FC), Midge Purce (Maryland United FC), Sophia Smith (Real Colorado), and Trinity Rodman (SoCal Blues).
Albert, Coffey, Fox, Shaw, Smith, and Rodman have appeared in all five matches for the Americans, with Coffey being third on the team in minutes played with 382 and Fox being fourth with 355.
The United States has scored 14 goals throughout the tournament, half of which have come from ECNL alumni, with Jenna Nighswonger (2) and Sophia Smith also scoring for the Americans.
The United States advanced through the group stage of the competition with a 2-1 record before knocking off Colombia in the quarterfinals and Canada on penalties in the semifinals to reach Sunday night's final.
Sunday night's final will be the 40th time the United States and Brazil have faced off and the fourth time the two sides have met in a final, with the United States winning the previous three finals.
