RICHMOND, Va. (August 14, 2026) - The ECNL Regional League Girls is launching a new "Teal" Division within the ECNL Regional League Girls - Northeast, rewarding eight qualifying clubs with more best-on-best competitions in the regular season based on their performances last year in one of the largest ECNL Regional Leagues in the country.
The clubs participating in the Teal division in the 2026-2027 season are: Albany Alleycats (Albany, NY), East Coast Surf (West Hempstead, NY), Keystone Athletic (Stroudsburg, PA), NE Surf (Boston, MA), PDA South (Somerset, NJ), Quickstrike FC (Hudson Valley, NY), Reading Rage Surf (Leesport, PA), and YMS (Yardley, PA).
Beyond the Teal Division, the ECNL RL - Northeast will continue to include multiple additional geographically-based divisions, with teams from all divisions seeking to qualify for the ECNL RL East Playoffs in the post-season. "The launch of this new division in the ECNL Regional League Girls - Northeast is the result of multiple conversations with club directors and leaders across the league looking to continue to elevate the competition, reward performance, and manage travel," said ECNL Regional League Girls Commissioner Mikayla Hampton. "Every club in the ECNL RL - Northeast has earned their position in the league through performance on the field, and this new structure will continue to incentivize and reward the top performing clubs in all divisions. Competition, with an emphasis on providing pathways for players, teams and clubs, is a core value of the league, and this structure reflects that value in action."
Each year, teams within all divisions of the ECNL RL - Northeast will be evaluated with the potential to move divisions based upon their performance. This more fluid structure mirrors existing structures in Texas, Southern California, and other areas of the country in the ECNL RL as the league continues to evolve to best meet the needs of players, teams and clubs.
