The ECNL Boys third-place games featured top competition from across the U.S. The games were competitive, physical and filled to the brim with fast-paced, back-and-forth action. Nearly every game came down to the wire, with two matches featuring late winners. Check out all the action from the ECNL third place games below. 

U17 Bracket - Beach FC 4, LVU Rush 2

Beach FC (CA) won the U17 third-place game against LVU Rush 4-2 after a sluggish start.

Both teams had chances up and down the pitch, with Beach FC scoring the first goal after a low cross put the ball on a plate for the attacker. LVU came right back down the pitch quickly after, and answered similarly with a low cross to the back post. 

Beach FC would continue to hold possession more consistently after that, scoring three consecutive goals. LVU Rush added a second goal for a comeback attempt, but Beach FC's lead was too great as the club earned their victory.  

U16 Bracket - Dallas Texans Academy 3, Pateadores 1

The ECNL Boys U16 third-place game between Dallas Texans Academy and Pateadores was end-to-end in the opening minutes, with both teams getting into the opposing thirds but being unable to finish chances. 

Dallas scored the opening goal of the game from the penalty spot halfway through the first half after the opposing keeper brought the attacker down on a one-on-one. 

Pateadores immediately answered back with a low driven strike into the bottom left corner only a few minutes later, equalizing the game at 1-1. 

Pateadores would continue to build possession from there, keeping Dallas Texans on the back foot for the beginning of the second half. Dallas lived on the counter however, eventually moving up field and scoring on a shot from inside the six yard box.

Dallas would score their final goal of the day with an outside the box curler into the bottom left corner, ending the game at 3-1.

U15 Bracket - VDA 4, FC Dallas 0

VDA opened up the game with a bulk of the possession, creating multiple chances and consistently pushing up the field, putting pressure on FC Dallas' defense. Their first goal came late in the first half, with a pass inside creating an easy shot right in front of the net. 

VDA continued to push ahead, stringing together passes all over the midfield. They doubled their lead in the second half after a shot from outside the box deflected off a FC Dallas defender and went past the keeper.

FC Dallas kept attempting to mount attacks, but each one sputtered out and VDA was able to capitalize again and again. 

VDA pushed into the final third again and found a third goal for their efforts halfway through the second, as a shot was rocketed from the right side of the box into the net. 

The fourth and final goal was scored in the dying moments of the game from a VDA corner that went over the goalie and off the crossbar into the net. 

U14 Bracket - NCFC Youth Academy 2, Delaware FC 0

NCFC Youth Academy and Delaware FC matched up in the ECNL Boys U14 third-place game, where the two sides played a fairly even 90 minutes with Delaware applying constant pressure and NCFC holding possession and creating chances. 

The two clubs were deadlocked with fulltime winding down, but Delaware won a late penalty with a chance to win the game on the line. Delaware stepped up to the spot, but NCFC goalie Maxwell Blackburn guessed correctly and saved the late shot. 

The game would go into extra time, where NCFC Youth Academy earned a penalty of their own in the first extra frame. Jordan Hatchell converted from the spot to give the lead 1-0. 

Although Delaware continued to create some chances, Hatchell broke through again on a counter-attack and dispatched a shot into the bottom corner to solidify the NCFC Youth Academy 2-0 win.

U13 Bracket - San Diego Surf 3, NTH-NASA 2

San Diego Surf took home the bronze in the youngest age bracket with a back-and-forth, 3-2 win against NTH NASA. 

Both teams pushed heavily for an opener to start the first half, with chance after chance being shared by the sides. They traded goals early  before continuing onward with their stalemate for a good portion of the game. 

The best was saved for last though, as NTH-NASA took the lead on a back post header from a corner late into the second half. 

Surf quickly equalized after a solo run and insightful pass put an attacker one-on-one with the goalie. The shot was slotted past into the bottom right corner.

Surf, now carrying all the momentum, created chance after chance until they eventually scored the winning goal only a few minutes later from a rocket into the top right corner. NTH-NASA searched for a late equalizer in extra time, but Surf held on for the victory.
