This summer, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) hosted the 2025 edition of the prestigious SuperCopa FMF at FMF's headquarters in Toluca, Mexico, for both boys and girls. Since its launch in 2019, the SuperCopa has become a cornerstone event for the identification and long-term development of youth soccer talent in Mexico for professional and international play.
The tournament gathered the best young players from across Mexico, as well as from Mexican-American communities throughout the United States, to create a unique platform to identify and nurture the future stars of Mexican soccer via El Camino Scouting Tour.
Over the past months, ECNL Heritage Project Director Pat McStay supported Four Fangs Events to bring more opportunities for Heritage Project players across different nationalities through their programs throughout the United States. This year for the first time McStay also attended the SuperCopa to see the quality of the event, support players, and engage with LigaMX Club representatives as well as representatives from FMF.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Mexican-Americans to show their level of competition with top scouts from FMF and Mexico," said Juan Blanco, founder of Four Fangs Events and event producer of El Camino in the US.
The SuperCopa featured competition between U13 and U15 Mexican Youth National Teams and El Camino teams, providing scouts with a valuable opportunity to evaluate some of the brightest young talent on both sides of the border.
The event drew scouts from nearly every Liga MX club, including Atlas, Chivas, Club América, Juárez, León, Monterrey, Pachuca, Pumas, Tigres, Toluca, Santos, and more.
As of this summer, Mexico remains the National Federation with the largest number of players connected through the ECNL Heritage Project, with nearly 200 players identified so far. This year's SuperCopa offered another incredible stage for those players to showcase their talent, with seven U15 players and three U13 players earning the opportunity to compete in the boys' event, as well as nine U15 and eleven U13 players competing on the girls' side.
Below are the ECNL players who competed in this year's SuperCopa. The ECNL is incredibly proud of these young men and women for earning recognition at such a high level, and their participation is a testament to their talent, hard work, and dedication.
